CreVue Retreat
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 1, 2026
CreVue Retreat is operated by Elcana Wellness Inc.
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy law.
PIPEDA establishes ten fair-information principles governing private-sector handling of personal information, including accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection and retention, safeguards, openness and individual access.
1. Information We May Collect
Depending on how you interact with CreVue Retreat, we may collect information such as:
- your name;
- email address and telephone number;
- reservation and accommodation information;
- account information where accounts are offered;
- messages or correspondence you send to us;
- information reasonably required to administer a reservation; and
- basic technical or security information generated through use of our website.
CreVue Retreat does not currently collect health, allergy, dietary, accessibility or emergency-contact information through its standard online booking process.
2. Why We Collect Information
We may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries;
- process and administer reservations;
- communicate important information concerning a reservation;
- provide requested services;
- maintain appropriate business and transaction records;
- maintain website and account security;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- send marketing communications where appropriate consent has been obtained.
We will not require consent to unnecessary secondary uses of personal information as a condition of providing a service. This reflects guidance from Canada’s Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
3. Booking Communications vs. Marketing
Booking and service communications are separate from marketing communications.
When you provide contact information to make a reservation or enquiry, CreVue Retreat may use it as reasonably necessary to respond to you and administer the requested service—for example, sending reservation confirmations, arrival information or material changes concerning your booking.
Providing contact information for these purposes does not by itself mean that you have opted into CreVue Retreat’s general marketing list.
Marketing consent will be requested separately where required.
4. Marketing Communications
Where CreVue Retreat requests express consent for email or electronic marketing, participation will be optional.
Marketing messages subject to Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation will include applicable sender identification and an unsubscribe mechanism.
The CRTC identifies consent, identification information and an unsubscribe mechanism as the three general requirements for commercial electronic messages.
You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time.
5. Disclosure of Information
CreVue Retreat does not sell personal information.
Personal information may be disclosed to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate our business, provide requested services, maintain our website or comply with legal obligations.
Where service providers process personal information on our behalf, we will take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances to protect that information.
6. Payment Processing
CreVue Retreat does not currently offer the contemplated third-party online payment processing services referenced elsewhere during development of the website.
If third-party payment processing is introduced, this Privacy Policy should be updated before or when that functionality becomes operational to accurately explain the information handled by those providers.
7. Cookies and Analytics
CreVue Retreat does not currently use third-party advertising or behavioural analytics technologies such as advertising pixels.
The website may use technologies that are technically necessary for website functionality, security, sessions or user-requested services.
If CreVue Retreat later introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or similar tracking technologies, this policy and any applicable consent mechanism will be updated.
8. Retention
Personal information will be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law, after which it will be securely deleted, destroyed or anonymized as appropriate.
This reflects PIPEDA’s limitation on use, disclosure and retention.
9. Security
CreVue Retreat uses reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of information under its control.
No internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
PIPEDA requires safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of personal information.
10. Access and Correction
Subject to applicable legal exceptions, individuals may request access to personal information held about them and may ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected.
PIPEDA expressly recognizes individual access and the ability to challenge the accuracy and completeness of personal information.
